Obituary of Jean McCormack

Jean McCormack, 83, of Ocala, Florida passed away October 16, 2018 at Brookdale Canopy Oaks Ocala, Florida. She was the wife of Douglas McCormack for 63 years.

Jean was born in Jersey City, New Jersey a daughter of the late Myles and Mildred Phillips. Prior to her retirement she worked for Macy’s Department Store in New Jersey where she was a window decorator. She was also a creative artist who worked in oils, pastels and mixed media.  She also occasionally decorated unfinished furniture for her friends.

Jean will be deeply missed by her husband, Douglas and daughters, Stephanie Burtis and her husband Richard of Landing, NJ, Leslie Anderson and her husband Andy of Dunnellon, FL and Christine Vallejo and her husband Gene of Parsippany, NJ.  She has 2 grandchildren and a great grandson.  She is also survived by a sister, Linda Yaeger of Dumfries, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister.

The family will receive friends at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110^th Street, Ocala, FL 34481 on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00PM.  Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com.
