Obituary of Thomas Edward Stutson
Thomas Edward "Tom" Stutson, age 75, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at his home in Williston, Florida surrounded by his family.
Tom was born October 15, 1947 to Jesse Earl and Mary Lee Stutson in Waterloo, Iowa. He was the eldest of 3 children, and was affectionately known as Tommy to his two younger sisters, Joyce Tovey and Sandi Dean.
He married his wife, Bonita "Nita" Lisette (née Weber) in Hardin, Illinois on June 15, 1968 and enjoyed 55 years of a happy marriage. He worked hard to provide for his wife, saying with an adoring twinkle in his eye, “I make the living, and she makes the living worth while."
Tom survived by his wife Nita, his daughter Rebecca Lee del Valle and son-in-law Fabian del Valle, and his son Scott Thomas Stutson and daughter-in-law Kelli Stutson. He was a devoted Papa to his proclaimed favorite granddaughter (only), Natalie del Valle, and his 4 grandsons: Garrett Stutson, Sean Stutson, Alex del Valle, and JT Stutson.
Tom’s driven and hardworking nature during his working career allowed him to retired early in life to 20 acres of beautiful wooded land in Williston, Florida where he and his wife built their dream home. He filled his free time with hands-on, self taught hobbies like leather working, woodworking in his barn, painting sceneries by Bob Ross, and playing his harmonica and guitar which he often did when Nita played the piano. He had a good-natured and quick witted sense of humor, well known for his dad jokes long before dad jokes were considered cool. His faith and family always took priority in his life.
Tom touched the lives of many people and his memory will live on in those who knew him. Love knows no bounds and has no ending.
