Obituary of Walter Clements
CLEMENTS, WALTER T. (RED) Anthony - Walter T. (Red) Clements, 95, passed away on Sunday,
March 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Glenwood, GA but had lived most of his lifetime
in Marion County. He owned and operated W.T. Clements Painting Contractor since he was 27 years
old and retired at age 75. During his retirement years, he raised quail, pheasants, turkeys,
hogs, horses and cattle. He also sold pecans, syrup, honey and vegetables at the Ocala Livestock
Market and throughout the surrounding area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, making many
hunting trips to Colorado with his family and friends. He raised hunting dogs, both hounds and
bird dogs and earned the nickname of "Doggy Red" from his friends. He served his country during
WWII in the U.S. Army, serving in the Phillipines. He is survived by his children, Adrienne Boyd
and husband Gerald of Anthony and David Clements and wife Laura of Ocala, his grandchildren,
Bradley Boyd and wife Pam of Deland, Stasha Boyd-Lutz and husband Mike of Winter Garden, Rev.
Samuel W. Clements and wife Kellie of Ocala and Deanna Lynn Clements of Ocala, his great
grandchildren, Kyle W. Clements and Allyson G. Clements, Conner Boyd and Emmett Boyd and Jada
Olivia Lindsey, his nieces, Betty Brown, Avis Alexander, Harlean Galipo, Cherry Thrash, Joanne
Hawkins and Annie Ruth Ingram and nephews, Joe Brown, Bobby Clements, Harry Hawkins, Ronnie and
Terry Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Myrtle Williams Clements on
July 10, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at
Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, with his grandson, Rev. Samuel
W. Clements and Frank Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation
will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Unity Baptist
