Obituary of Oscar Malcolm
Owen Malcolm, of Ocala passed away peacefully Monday, December 21, 2009. A Merchant
Marine veteran of World War II, and a native Floridian, he moved to Marion County from Miami in
1983 and together with his wife operated a tax and accounting practice for 25 years in Dunnellon
and Ocala. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Ocala, Past President of the
Ocala Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, and a Past Governor of the William Mullins
Colony, Society of Mayflower Descendants, and a very proud alumnus of the University of Florida
('52). He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Nichols Malcolm, and his children Susan
Holmes (David) of Slocomb, AL, Steve Malcolm of Davie, FL, Owen Hayes Malcolm (Tina) of
Alpharetta, GA, as well as 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in life by his
son Robert Malcolm. A private graveside service will be held for family on January 16, 2010 at
Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Ocala, FL to be followed by a Memorial Service at the Marion
Landing Lifestyle Center at Noon.
