Obituary of Gail Olsen Pulsifer
Gail Olsen Pulsifer, age 75, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in The Villages, Florida.
Mrs. Pulsifer was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the Rev. Norman R. Olsen and Mabelle R. Olsen.
She is a retired Registered Nurse who received her nursing degree from New England Baptist
Hospital in Boston. She also attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She worked for many years
at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, Virginia as well as in several doctors’ offices. She taught
Mother and Baby Care classes with the US Army in Germany and other US locations where her
husband, Don, was stationed. She is a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in The
Villages, Florida. Formerly she lived in Woodbridge, Virginia for 37 years and was a member there
of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. She has also been an active member of the Emmaus
Community in both places for many years. Mrs. Pulsifer is survived by her husband of 53 years,
Lt. Col. Donald W. Pulsifer, her 4 children, Heidi W. Maclin and husband Henry, Douglas B.
Pulsifer and wife Lisa, Andrew B. Pulsifer and wife Emily, and Juliana P. Ackerman and husband
Scott; her brother Brian F. Olsen and 10 grandchildren, Margaret V. Maclin, H. Wilson Maclin IV,
Brian H. Pulsifer, Parker P. Pulsifer, S. Abigail Maclin, Liam W. Pulsifer, Zachary L. Pulsifer,
Erin G. Ackerman, Michael S. Ackerman and Benjamin A. Ackerman.
