Obituary of Jack Edwin Peake

Jack Peake died on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Estelle's Hospice House. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia. Survivors also include three sons, Mark (Kim) of Krotz Springs, LA, James Matthew of Ocala, and Michael of Gainesville, FL. Jack and Patricia have three grand-children and six great-grandchildren. Peake, a native of Birmingham, AL was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers in the Korean Conflict. Jack had thirty years management experience with Southern Bell Telephone Company in various locations throughout the State of Florida. His previous responsibilities have included public relations, advertising, public affairs, customer service administration and government affairs with the telephone company. He moved to Ocala in 1983 and was employed by the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce for twelve years, and served as its CEO from 1986 to 1993. Some of his former professional affiliations included The Florida Economic Development Council, The Florida Chamber Executive Association and CFCC's Foundation Board of Directors. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County or to a charity of your choice.
