Obituary of Michelle Carroll Brown

Michelle C. Brown, 37, of Citra, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville. A native of Miami, she moved to Marion County 12 years ago. She was a retired Master Deputy with the Marion County Sheriff's office, where she had received multiple Eagle Eye awards from Sheriff Ed Dean. Michelle was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #145. Prior to her years with the Sheriff's office, she had worked on the Marine Patrol for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. She received her Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Bellevue University, in Bellevue, Nebraska. Michelle is survived by her husband Cory Brown, Citra, her mother Stella Carroll and fiancé Troy Melot, Miami, her father Walter Carroll and his wife Trudy, Silver Springs, Cory's parents Don and Mary Brown, Pittsburgh, PA, and numerous aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Hiers Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, with Chaplain Robert Murray and Pastor Dan Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time.
