Obituary of Gail M. Henry

THE VILLAGES — Gail (Steve) M. Henry, 94, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010. Mr. Henry was born in Belvidere, Ill., and moved to The Villages from Rockford, Ill., in 2006. He was a farmer for many years in Kirkland, Ill.; employed at Central Grain in Belvidere; and retired in 1979 from Rock Valley College in Rockford; an Army veteran of World War II; 50-plus year member of the American Legion; enjoyed woodworking, reading; going to tractor and horse pulls; attending the monthly Four Score and More luncheons in The Villages; and going to his cabin on Lake Koshkonong in Wisconsin. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Turecek, The Villages; sister, Barb Gingras, Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Funeral services will be held in Belvidere. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Villages Hospice House, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.
