Obituary of John Franklin Dodds

Jack Dodds, born in Natrona Heights, PA on August 1, 1934 passed away peacefully on December 13th. He married his high school sweetheart, Marcia (Siejkoski) in 1954. Following graduation from Har-Brack High School, Jack served a four-year tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force, was honorably discharged, then attended and graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Jack flourished throughout a thirty year aerospace engineering career with G.E., McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing. His assignments on numerous U.S. space programs took him and family to Maine, NY, Alabama, California, and Florida. In 1992, Jack retired as the launch conductor for the Delta II launch vehicle at Cape Canaveral A.F.S. He will undoubtedly be remembered by colleagues as an incredibly hard worker with the utmost integrity. In 1994, he and Marcia moved to The Villages, FL where they enjoyed retirement life for 15 great years. They were charter members of St. George Episcopal Church and active members of the Penn State Tri-County Alumni Assn. Together they enjoyed boating, water-skiing, RV'ing, gourmet club, travel, friends and, especially family. In June of this year, Jack was predeceased by Marcia, his beloved wife of 55 years. He is survived by sons Jeff (Jennifer) or Orlando, FL; Joel (Marie) of Rockledge, FL; nephew Jack Meyers of Cambria, CA; niece Melissa (Taylor) Webb of Asheville, NC; five grandsons (Carson, Ryan, Jordan, Logan and T.J.) and one great-granddaughter (Elizabeth). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jack's name to Joe's Club, 4676 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935. Joe's Club provides adult daycare for Alzheimer's patients and is a service provided by the Brevard Alzheimer's Association.
