I am so sorry to hear of my Uncle Merrill's passing. He was such a wonderful and fun-loving man. He always had me in stitches every time he was around and I'll never forget his antics with Joey the poodle. I swear the two of them had these routines worked out between them. When dad had his heart attack in 1967, my brother and I stayed with Aunt Elaine and Uncle Merrill for a month or so. Even though I was only 10 at the time, I still remember how much they both went out of their way to help us through that difficult time. Uncle Merrill's sense of humor went a long way to ease my worries. He was such an easy person to be around and delighted everyone who met him.
My sincere sympathy to you all - Aunt Elaine, Sandy, Gretchen all all the other family members feeling this deep loss. I count myself as very lucky to have had such a great Uncle and will fondly remember our fun times together.
