Obituary of Willis Alexander Tripp

Willis Alexander Tripp, age 92 of Ocala, FL, died July 24, 2011. He was born to Willis Linwood Tripp and Helen Esther Wall-Tripp on March 5, 1919 in Westport, MA. He served in the US Army during the European Theatre attaining the rank of Captain. Willis was a retired electrical engineer. A native of Westport, MA, he moved from Silver Spring, MD to Ocala in 1978 to oversee the construction of a new building for Microdyne Corp, where he worked until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Tripp was a member of The First Baptist Church of Ocala, and the Military Officers Association of America. Survivors include his daughter, Pam Doherty, Ocala, FL; 3 grandchildren, Courtney Wooten, Tripp (Jessica) Wooten and Dallas Doherty, all of Ocala, FL; One brother, Alvin W. Tripp, Westport, MA and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucile Tripp; son, Ronald Tripp; siblings, Linwood Tripp, Howard Tripp, Russell Tripp, Edith Tripp-Traganza, Carl Tripp and Ernest Tripp. A Funeral Service to honor Willis will be held 11:00am on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be offered to Odyssey Hospice, 1320 SE 25th Loop, Ocala, FL 34471.
