Obituary of Marvin Donald Long

Marvin "MD" Long, 79, of Gulf Hammock passed away July 27, 2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Born in Lake Barton, in the Orlando area, he has been in Gulf Hammock for 26 years moving there from Geneva, FL. During his lifetime he was an owner of a fruit stand and also worked as a sub-contractor. He was a former member of the Geneva First Baptist Church. 'MD' was a member of the Waccassa Hunt Club and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, shrimping and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Frances Long of Gulf Hammock, his children Clifford (Denise) Long of Bronson, Dona C. Martin of Ocala, Teri Mathieux of Geneva, Lance Hilliard of Winter Park, Robyn Riddle of Kuwait, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Joseph Aron Long. A graveside service is planned Saturday, July 30 at Memorial Garden Cemetery in Winter Park at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends at the cemetery two hours prior the service.
