Smith, Marvin Lester, 103
Ocala - Marvin Lester Smith died August 3, 2011 at his residence in Ocala. He was born February 15, 1908 in Lincolinton, NC. Mr. Smith moved to the Ocala area in 1969 from Ft. Lauderdale and owned a construction business. He enjoyed fishing, travelling, bingo, and eating out with his son and friends. Mr. Smith had a lot of fun times celebrating his birthdays, always went to Outback on Sunday evenings, and went to the Paddock Mall for 15 years to meet his buddies and watch people where he enjoyed talking to everybody and Chick-Fil-A fed him every day. He really enjoyed going there and they were special to him. He sends his regards for everything. His special friends were Walter Middleton and Bruce Mozart. He is survived by his son, Les Smith of Ocala; daughter, Lona Garrett of Greenville, SC; granddaughters, Jennifer Melda of Bowling Green, KY and Carrie Tomlin of Greensboro, SC; grandson, Nicholas Smith of Ocala, FL; and 2 great-grandchildren. A celebration in "Smitty's" memory will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the home of his son, Les Smith, 1570 SE 73rd Place, Ocala, FL 34480.
