Obituary of Katherine Sherry Houlker

Houlker, Katherine "Kate", 45 of Gainesville, Fl, passed away August 11, 2011, after putting up a huge fight of lung cancer that she never gave up on and stayed strong to the end. She always continued her never ending love. Kate was born in Newport, Rhode Island, and graduated from the Middletown High School in 1985. She graduated from the Sayer School in 1992 and became a Medical Assistant . She and her family moved to Gainesville in 1997, where she worked for Changes Phases and became a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Mrs. Houlker was a beautiful, loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother who would do anything for her family. She was willing to help others out as much as she could. She enjoyed just about everything from family vacations to cooking. She also loved to collect "dopey" items from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You are loved and will be missed and never forgotten. You will remain in our hearts forever. Survivors are her loving husband of 20years, Charlie A. Houlker, daughters Nicole Courine Houlker, Sheri Anne Houlker, and Brittany Andrea Houlker, a son Justin Francis Houlker, her mother Katherine Smith Corcoran, brothers Joseph Corcoran, Richard Corcoran, and John Duffy, and her adoring grandchildren, Dominic Andrew Fritzgerald Houlker, Jayden Omar Rutledge, Xavier Garrick Rutledge, Aliyah Katherine Rutledge, and Dylan Carter Houlker, and her close friend, Terri Hanlon. Preceded in death by her father Joseph Corcoran. Visitation will be Monday, August 15, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-Chiefland and Services will be 11am on Tuesday, August 16,2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Gainesville, FL.
