RENNER, Sr., ROBERT L.
Robert L. Renner, Sr., 87, was born April 27, 1924 to Myron L. and Edna Bessie Renner in Youngstown, OH and died on August 12, 2011 in Ocala, FL at the Windsor of Ocala. Mr. Renner was a veteran of World War II with the Coast Guard. He was an installation foreman for Southern Bell for 37 years in Cocoa, FL, and was a volunteer for both the Fire Dept in Cocoa, as well as the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, before moving to Ocala in 1987. Mr. Renner was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Summerfield, and was their Chairman of the Building Committee. He enjoyed playing golf, and was most proud of his children, as well as his time with the Fire Dept. Mr. Renner is survived by his son Robert L. Renner, Jr. of Ocala, FL, and his son Bruce W. Renner of Atlanta, GA, as well as 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Renner. Funeral Services for Mr. Renner will be Tuesday, August 16, at 1PM at St. John Lutheran Church, Sunset Harbor Rd, Summerfield, FL with Pastor Dave Connell officiating, entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1515 NE 3rd Street, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County or St. John Lutheran Church in Summerfield, FL.
