Obituary of Catherine Ann Fender

Fender, Catherine Ann Catherine Ann Fender, 51 of Ocala, Florida, died August 15, 2011. She was born to Russell Alger Justin and Carolyn Margaret Reese-Justin, March 15, 1960 in Miami Beach, Florida. She is survived by her two children, Carly Ann Fender of Fruitland Park, FL and Justin William Fender of Ocala, FL; Brother, Richard Justin (Linda) of Arnprior Ontario, Canada. Catherine was 20 years dedicated firefighter and paramedic to the Ocala Fire Department. She was the first female Captain and Battalion Chief for the department. Pioneering for underprivileged children, she recruited and united organizations and companies supporting her efforts. She was a Registered Nurse in Home Health Care. Catherine was an explorer and adventurous. As an experienced rafter she conqured rafting in the Gauley River. In her younger years, she enjoyed photography, speed skating and softball. A Memorial Service to honor the life of Catherine will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL.
