Dear Joe, David, and Mrs. Battisti,
I have fond memories of your dad / husband. Hard working, honest, reliable, family man, role model, immensely talented carpenter, are all words that I would use to describe him. He was always wiling to give some advise on how to handle household projects and I'm thankful to him and Joe for the little bit of knowledge that rubbed off on me in the process.
It's always hard to let go of a loved one no matter the circumstances. Just know that his spirit is free of the body and mind that was failing him. He is reunited with loved ones that have gone before him. I know it is a cliche but there is not doubt that he is in a better place.
I'm sorry I won't be there with you during this difficult time. Know that I will be there in spirit and that I'll be praying for you and your dad / husband. I hope to see you all sometime soon.
