Obituary of Simon Donald Rearick

Summerfield- Simon "Donald" Rearick, 82, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Mr. Rearick was born in Rural Valley, PA. He was the son of the late Norman and Ruth Rearick. He was married 51 years to his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Evanich who passed away in 1999. They raised 7 children while living in Erie and Homer City, PA and then transferred to Texas. He worked 31 years for Sears before retiring to Florida in 1992.While living at Spruce Creek South, his favorite pastime was playing softball. He also belonged to Knights of Columbus, The Pretenders & enjoyed many other activities including tennis, billiards & square dancing. Don is survived by his children & their spouses, Barb & Bill Smith, NM; Patti & Larry Cicero, PA; Don & Gladys Rearick, TX; Jeff & Cindy Rearick, TX; Terri & Brian Wherry, NC; Judi & Bob Joseph, FL and David & Whitney Rearick, SC; 18 grandchildren, Jennifer, Nathan, Ryan; Jason, Cristie, Jarret, Devan, Brandon; James; Josh, Justin, Jerett; Cory, Aaron; Jillian, Stephanie; Trenton, Katheryn ; 10 great grandchildren and one brother, Jonas Rearick, Tx. Pre-deceased by infant son Darren; brother Orman Rearick and sister Gladys North. His helpfulness and unending humor will be missed by all who knew him.
