Mom,
I know, I am a little slow on the start. It is hard to get the right words together when YOU were so many parts of my life! You were my most loved Mother, my children's most loved Grandmother and at times my BEST Friend. I will miss all the parts of you. You were always there for us, no matter how hard it was. We always knew you would be there for us with a shining love that will never end. You have filled all our hearts with such love and care. You had a hard life but you never once complained or took it out on any one. When it would have been so easy to just walk away, you stayed and fought with all you had to keep us all going. I remember when we were young and the welfare people wanted to give you help! It made you mad and you told them you didn't need their help! You worked 2 jobs to keep us fed and clothed! You never took a hand out and you taught us to be strong and self relient as well. There are so many good memories of your smiling face and your love! I will never forget even one of the good times we had with you loving us and caring for us. I know you are now walking around heaven and talking to all your loved ones that went before you. I can't tell you how proud I am that you were my Mom and Clara and Maggie's Grandmother! We miss you every minute of every day! Be at peace my Dear Mother and know you were loved!
Your Daughter, Pattie. I love you Mom and am glad you are finally at peace with your Lord.

I suppose im the oldest nephew on your fathers side, and some comments sound so familiar...especially the chicken and dumplins..You know early on they were both professional cooks, and owned restuarants..I remember the rexall drug store theys owned together with uncle vane. I used to stay the summers, and they had a maid that came in to watch us kids while they worked...THAT MAID hated us...and would slap meals down on the table that was totally cold...nothing was heated up...straight from the refrig...horrible...but too young to complain or be listened to..maid stayed in the car with boy friend most of time...BEFORE she was married and still dating your dad...every friday night they would go out, but she remembered to bring me a sack of bananas every time...and I woud call him uncle s"boppy" DURING this time I was 3 and bill was less than a year old and we lived in THE BIG HOUSE....A very devoted lady..that was put through a lot...and SHE ENDURED..so well, thru the years...full of tenacity and perserverance that kept her going no matter what..raising her family ALL ALONE...I love her for that...AND will never foget her...BYE AUNT PAT....Jake Johnson

Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did for my Mom. She really looked beautiful. We were so scarred for my 6 year old grandaughter,(my moms Great grandaughter) that loved mom very much, to see her. You made mom look so natural and beautiful that she didnt feel scarred or anything. We told her she was just sleeping, and she was ok with that. Sleeping in Heaven.
The only think we regret is there was no internet access for our slide show. My daughter that put slide show together for us did it on her drive from out of state and couldnt run disc, so we ran in on her phone which didnt work well. It kept stopping to reload.
You guys were awsome and wonderful to us all and helped us give our beautiful Mom the memorial she would have been proud of. Thank you so much,May God Bless each and everyone of you who took part in it.

My grandma Pat, wow...what an amazing woman. I spent a lot of time at the ol' farm as a kid over at her house with her growing up. As a kid, I started learning of what it really meant to love people. How it really looks to give all you have to people. Some were family, some were friends, some were people that she didn't know too well, and some were people that she didn't know at all. But, boy she was a giver. A giver of her time, and giver of her talents that the Lord has blessed her with, and a giver of her possessions. She would give everything away. I would stay the night at grandma's house as a kid, and I can't really remember a day that we spent together that she wasn't giving or doing something for someone else. I remember going over to her house and catching her shucking 2 to 3 bushels of field peas, for fun, just so she could give a bushel of shucked peas to family, friends, or whomever. What a picture of the heart of Christ she showed me as a kid and I didn't even realize it then.... When you look at her life, and you look at Proverbs 31:10-31, in a lot of ways she lived a life that mirrors the Proverbs 31 woman. Grandma Pat, I love you! Thank you for all that you taught me growing up, and now and forever. "Little Larry"

Where do I start - I've pondered all week long about what to say about "Grandma Rogers" as she was known to her Redeeming Faith & Anointing Church family here in Gainesville, Florida. As I began to compose my thoughts, I'm reminded of this song "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday." That's how I feel about Grandma Rogers - it is hard to say goodbye but I know that she is now at peace with her Lord. Not having grown up with grandmothers, I did not know the love of a grandmother until Grandma Rogers came into my life. Her smile and unconditional love will live on and on.
My husband, Babajide "BJ" and I pastor a church in Gainesville. Grandma Rogers came to visit once and never stopped coming until she was no longer able to drive. We have so many wonderful memories of Grandma Rogers but the one thing I would like to share is this - no matter how hard we tried, we could never beat her to church. Even though she had to drive from Ocala to Gainesville, she was always the first person to arrive at church. Each week we arrived, she would be sitting right there waiting for us to open the door. And, not only was she waiting for us to open the door but she always had our Sunday dinner prepared. Grandma Rogers was an excellent cook and she took great joy in preparing food for "her pastors" as she would way.
Grandma Rogers was loved by all at Redeeming Faith and will be missed greatly.
We are continuing to pray for the family and pray that your void will be filled with wonderful memories of Grandma Rogers.
Patti, Clara & Maggie, thank you for introducing us to your mother and grandmother.
With love,
Pastor BJ & Redeeming Faith & Anointing Church

I have many memories with Granny. Most end up making me laugh (and that is before she was diagnosed) Sometimes She didn't mean to be funny but she had such a simple way of doing things or thinking of things the humor in it was very deep.
One day when I lived with her I came home from work and she was already back from Ramada. (her work day ended right after lunch) Anyways, I walk in the door and she was sitting in her recliner (the one all the kids would play in at holidays) I could tell she was upset. I said, "Granny, what's wrong?". With her hand to her chest, she quickly replied, "Kristen has been in a bad accident." I sat down slowly in shock. I asked what happened. As she explained the details I began to run the name "Kristen" through my mind. And for the life of me I couldn't quite place how I knew her and so I asked Granny who she was...someone she worked with? No...Family?....No.....She got frustrated and finally pointed at the T.V. and said, "you know, Kristen, the one that married that there man". She was pointing to a Soap Opera..... my tears dried and the laughter began!
i love you Granny, your grand -daughter Melissa.

My fondest memories of Aunt Pat were the family reunions and get togethers at her house when I was a young boy. Her hospitality and graciousness was a wonderful example to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. I know we'll all miss her but I praise God that she finally gets her new glorified body in heaven, and we will see her, and talk with her, and she will be healed! I love you aunt Pat, until we meet again....

Miss Pat was one of the kindest, most giving persons I have ever known. She was very important to our family since the mid 1960s. I first remember her from the restaurant @ I-75 & SR 40 in Ocala, believe it was the Crown(?). She came to work @ the Ramada shortly thereafter, when it was brand new. She became a fixture from that time foreward. She was always positive and happy. If we could pattern ourselves after someone, Pat would be our shining example.

Aunt Pat was such a wonderful person, and my favorite aunt. The best memories of growing up were those special times that we got to visit with Aunt Pat and all my cousins. Her servant's heart would never let you walk out of her house hungry or in need if there was any way possible for her to give to those in need. She was and always will be greatly loved by her children's generations and by her nieces and nephews. I'm so glad that she is safe and warm, happy and whole in the presence of Jesus. Aunt Pat, I miss you. I love you and I look forward to seeing you again and sitting down at the marriage supper of the Lamb with you. I will remember your voice and your laughter and your love.

Granny was always a cook'n and a laugh'n. I remeber going to Ramada Inn when I was young and I could here her laughing before I walked into the restaurant. I guess that's where my momma got it. Granny raised some amazing children, who have become amazing aunts and uncles and Parents. Her children reflect who she was in soooo many ways, The love, laughter and giving people that they are.I am so happy for granny being set free from her broken body. I look forward to the day I see her again and we can rejoice and praise God together in full body, heart, soul, and MIND.

I have to say, Amen! to what cousin Wayne Groves said as well as everyone else. Aunt Pat was an amazing lady with lots of love for everyone. I still remember stopping in at her restaurant on my way through Ocala and she would serve me a great big Belgian Waffle with a whole can of whipped cream and butter! A meal for angels! She really did make you feel like you were special! I will miss Aunt Pat greatly but as Wayne said, there will be a great reunion in Heaven and I expect to see her again! For those who don't know, Heaven IS REAL and God wants us all to decide to go there by accepting Jesus as our Savior. I have and so did Aunt Pat! Hope you do too!

I will truly miss my dear Mother-in-law, "Mrs. Pat". My sincere sympathies goes out to all of her family, especially for my wife and her youngest daughter Earline. She was a special lady, one who gave so much to help others she loved and even those she didn't know. Her warm smile was always there with anyone she would greet...she'd always make you feel special. I know she served a lot of people during her life as a waitress and many of them became her lifelong friend. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and even after she retired she continued cooking for many of her friends at her home at "Mrs. Pat's Country Kitchen". She was the type of person that would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. I know this first hand, she helped me so many times and she did so for many others in this town. "Mrs. Pat", you're a special lady and the best mother-in-law a son-in-law could ever have. I know now you're with the Lord and yes you probably are serving up some chicken and dumplings and cocunut cream pie right now. I'll cherish those special times and memories forever.
With great sadness and a heavy heart,
Love, Larry Manning (son-in-law)

I will miss her smile and gentle hugs she used to give and look forward to the day I see her again on the shore of heaven; to once again speak to her and for her to know me and speak to me again.
