Obituary of Roseann Collins

Roseann Collins, 71, The Villages, FL, a native of Staten Island, NY, passed away, Thursday September 1, 2011. She resided in Staten Island, NY until she moved to Baltimore with her husband in 1984. She moved to The Villages in 2002. Roseann and her husband, John, volunteered during 9/11 for the Port Authority NY and NJ 9-11 Family Crisis Center. She is a Roman Catholic and a member of The Irish American Club of The Villages, Friends of the Library, Retired Police Officers and Firefighters Club, Hacienda East Neighborhood Association, and a former president of The Hacienda North/East and HHH Women's Club. She enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed travel, reading, cooking, collecting teapots and cookie jars. Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband of 53 years, John J., The Villages; sons, John M., Rahway, NJ, Timothy and David, both of Baltimore; daughter-in-law, Stephanie, Baltimore; grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan of Clark, NJ, Sean and Meaghan of Baltimore. A gathering of family and friends will be 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a prayer service at 11:30, Saturday, September 10, 2011 led by Father Ed Waters at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Fullerton Catholic Church, Baltimore, MD. Interment will be at The Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island, NY at a later date.
