Obituary of Edmond Warren Radcliffe

Ocala - Edmond Warren Radcliffe passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at his home at the age of 82. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He was born October 15, 1928, to Gladys and Clarence Radcliffe in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He moved his family to Citrus County in 1963 and to Ocala in 1966. He was a sign painter and owner of ABC Signs in the 1960's and Radcliffe Signs in the 1980's. He also taught commercial art at Vanguard High School from 1970-1978. He loved singing, fishing and golfing. For many years he sang in churches throughout Florida and North Carolina with the Christian Heirs gospel quartet. More recently, Warren and Jeannine and their good friends sang in local nursing homes. His parents and his sisters Ann Evans and Geraldine Edwards preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Jeannine, and his sons Michael Radcliffe and wife Kathie, David Radcliffe, Troy Radcliffe, daughter Laura Perkins and husband Russ and a brother Charles Radcliffe and wife Amanda. He was proud of his grandchildren Holly Edenfield, Mary Caroline Mica, Michael Radcliffe Jr., Christopher Radcliffe, Melissa Cromwell, Tyler Mech, Austin Maynard, Ally Radcliffe, Emily Perkins, Cole Perkins and great-grandchildren Elijah Mech, Aiden Mech and Sally Kate Edenfield. Many nieces, nephews and friends will also miss him. The family will receive friends Wed., Sept. 7, 2011, from 5-7pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Sept. 8, 2011, at 10am also at Hiers-Baxley. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
