Obituary of Joseph Kurilla

THE VILLAGES — Joseph Kurilla, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011. Mr. Kurilla was born in Shenandoah, Pa., and moved to The Villages from Lewes, Del., in 2005. He was a music teacher, member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, bowling league, computer enthusiast, music instructor; enjoyed jazz and big bands and a Marine veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his fiancée Dianne Michaud, The Villages; sons Dan, Birmingham, Ala., Joe, Garland, Texas; daughter, Celeste Khemlani, Winter Park; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-The Villages.
