Thank you for your kind words.Dad loved his heritage. It is sad to hear that grandma passed a mere 3 days after him..... I am not sure why, but I feel it is safe to assume that she passed of a broken heart after learning of dad. They are both together now..happy and wishing us ALL the best in life. And to the Mohican Nation.... thank you all.. may our heritage never be forgotten and remembered throughout the centuries.

I just wanted to offer my condolences to the family - I didn't know Leonard very well, only saw him when he came up to the reservation, but he was/is a part of the group here, however far away he may have been. His mother was a good friend, and we used to joke that she was always looking for "her boys", and she never saw them often enough the last years. I had a running joke with Leonard, he was a part of Leonard and Glennard, the Glimmer Twins, you always saw them both together. Again, my condolences. L. Martin Gresham, WI

To the Gulbronson Family ~ I played trumpet with Leonard in the Evans H.S. band in the first half of the 1960s, where he and I vied for the top chair on a friendly and respectful basis. We also enjoyed playing together in the dance band. I have thought of him many times over the years. Please accept my condolences for your great loss.

Daddy,
I love and miss you so much. I'm so sad to have lost you but I'm glad your are free from the suffering. I will never forget you or the times we shared. You meant the world to me, you were larger than life. We have a bond that will never be broken. Although I will miss talking to you to until the sun came up, I look forward to meeting up with you in my dreams or hearing your voice in a crowd, or seeing your eyes in my daughters eyes. You taught me to be so proud of our heritage. When I needed you, you were there for me. Thank you so much. You are one TOUGH INDIAN DADDY.
Love Always Yours Forever,

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that day
that God was going
to call your name .
In Life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same .
It broke our hearts to lose you ,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you ,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories ,
your love is still our guide ,
and though we cannot see you ,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same ,
but as God call us
one by one ,
the chain will link again .

It's taken me a while to figure out just what I wanted to say. This is hard for all of us. I want you to know that I love you and have missed you these last years. I will remember the good times we shared. The time we started a food fight at the dinner table; how you made us get up early to go fishing and how much I wanted to stay in bed; when we would go to work with you and price goods with those price sticker guns or ; how you 'let one rip' in public and quickly ran ahead motioning to everyone that we did it; all those times you played jokes on us, and the times we were too old to fall for them anymore; teaching me how to brush my hair and put it in a ponytail; how happy I was when you let me go to Wisconsin with you, which is how I first met my wonderful husband; you calling us 'Poopie' and me calling you 'Pumpkin Head'; the time we went on Space Mountain and how you said aloud to yourself "Breathe Leonard, breathe."; how I wanted everyone to see my Dad when you came to my school and how I will always remember you smelling of Canoe and cigarettes. Most of all I will remember how goofy and silly you were. I Love you Daddy.

May the Lord and the Great Spirit find your soul and guide you home to a life everlasting, where you will forever be with Delbert (Dad) and Shorty (Gramma). I have very little memories of you but the few I do have put a smile on my face, like the time you were on the reservation and you asked me to go back to Milwaukee with you to show you where we lived and then the next day you asked if I wanted to go to Florida. I had seen you a couple times after that and you would always refer to me as "Delbert's baby" which always put a huge smile on my face. So thank you uncle for the few times that we have met, you will forever be in my heart.
To all his children I am very sorry for your loss I know the pain and sorrow that comes with losing your "dad" , they say it gets better in time but I'm not sure yet for it's only been a year since my dad passed. But I will keep all of you in my prayers. God Bless

Dear Daddy ,
I have many fond memories of you . I remember when Tammy and I were little you would do our hair for us and take us to school . You were always goofing around and making jokes . Or when we would park in a parking lot somewhere and you would tell Tammy and I to duck down so you could scare people that walked past the car with your car michrophone thingy , that was funny ! We loved going fishing with you on the boat even though the mosquitos were biting and the fish were'nt !!! And other things i cant put online .... lol. ( You know what im talking about !!! ) I will miss you very much .... I love you forever and ever !!!!

I LOVE YOU GRANDPA! I will treasure all the visits to florida to see you and everytime you came to New Jersey to see us. It was always a wonderful time. I wish I coud have been there with you through everything, holding your hand talking to you every night instead of on the phone. I remember when you were here in NJ, sitting at Denny's talking for hours, mom was wondering where we were. I wish I could be there to be able to see you one last time with Mom. She's hurting pretty bad right now. I'm trying my best to help her through everything. You were very strong willed and i know you wouldn't want anyone crying but it's impossible not to. I know youre always going to be here watching over us. I talk about you all the time to Aaron and Aiden. We are naming our second son after you ( Leonard Conrad Mason) I wish they could have met the wonderful man you were. I know you're happy now, finally back with Grandma (Darlene Mary Catherine Gulbronson)where you two belong.
I will always love you and think about you.
I love you forever& always.. no matter what,
Your Grand daughter Jessica
