Obituary of Phillis Bowles DeSimone
Phillis Bowles DeSimone, 58, of Ocala, FL passed from this life to the arms of Jesus on Friday, September 23, 2011 from her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Marion County. Phillis grew up the second of three children as a lifelong resident of Fayette, AL until her move to Ocala twenty- five years ago. She raised two wonderful sons, Clay and Russ. Phillis loved working alongside her husband, Dale. She faithfully attended Trinity Baptist Church of Ocala where she was active in the Prayer Group. Phillis was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and also a dedicated and devoted friend. Phillis fought a courageous fight with cancer for three years; during which time she reached out to many with the love of God. She shared her faith openly and was evidence of the strength and peace that only God gives. She is survived by her loving husband Dale DeSimone of Ocala, FL; parents, Delmer and Bessie (Gregg) Bowles of Fayette, AL; sister, Diana Wilson (Butch) of Fayette, AL; brother, Tommy Bowles (Becky) of Northport, AL; sons, Clay McDonald (Tiffany) of Cumming, GA and Russ McDonald (Rachel) of Ocala, FL; stepson Joseph DeSimone of Ocala, FL; stepdaughter, Erin DeSimone of Tampa, FL and four precious grandchildren-her pride and joy- Ashley, Addison, Rusty and Ruby. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at Trinity Baptist in Ocala, FL on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 4:00PM. Her funeral will be held at Southside Baptist Church in Fayette, AL. Burial will be at Fayette Memorial Gardens.
