Obituary of Alfred W. DeHart

DeHART, Sr., Alfred W. Mr. Alfred W. DeHart, 73, of Ocala, died Friday, September 30, 2011, at Legacy Hospice House. A native of Largo, MD, he moved to Ocala in 1996, coming here from Upper Marlboro, MD. After 30 years as a Safeway truck Driver, he became owner/operator of Jan & Al's River Park Café in Silver Springs. He proudly served his country in the US Army. A devoted family man, Al's greatest joys in life were his family. He was of the Baptist faith. His survivors include his loving wife Janice, his two sons Alfred DeHart, Jr., and Ricky B. DeHart, three daughters Tammy Faye Cox, Kimberly D. Plumb, and Jacqueline Fuller, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM, Monday, October 3, 2011, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Spring Blvd., Ocala, with Rev. Samuel W. Clements officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until service time.
