Obituary of Ann Sanders

SANDERS, Ann Ann Sanders, 87, of Ocala, FL passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 9, 1924, to the late Bernard and Margaret McGuirk. Ann was a retired teacher and moved to Ocala in 1983. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and former member of Our Lady of the Springs. She is survived by sons, Michael C. (Barbara) Sanders, Saugerties, NY; Stephen C. (Jeannie) Sanders, Brandon, FL; daughter, Nancy M. Sanders, Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Douglas (Ashley) Sanders and David Sanders, Saugerties, NY; Jonathan Sanders, Myrtle Beach, SC; Kyle and Bridgette Sanders, Brandon, FL; one great-grandchild Riley Madison Sanders, Saugerties, NY; brother, Joseph McGuirk, Poughkeepsie, NY; sister, Elizabeth Callahan, Red Bank, NJ; many nieces and nephews and one special grandcat Blackie. She was preceded in death by her husband Bert C. Sanders (Oct. 1985); brothers Paul and Peter McGuirk; sister, Mary Mitchell; and niece Annie McGuirk. The service for all her family and friends to celebrate her life will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Monday, October 3, 2011, with a viewing starting at 10am, mass at 11am with Father Michael Farrell officiating, followed by a reception in the church community center. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Marion County Public Library System.
