Obituary of James Hodges

James H. "Jimmy" Hodges, age 71, of Ocala, FL passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011. He was born in Johnson City, TN on May 10, 1940. He was raised in Ocala, FL from the age of seven. Jimmy served in the US Navy for four years. After his military service he returned to Ocala where he started Hodges Well Drilling and later founded Sunshine Utilities which he operated until his passing. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, boating and artifact collecting. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who will be missed greatly by everyone. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Clarise G. Hodges of Ocala, FL; son James H. Hodges, Jr. of Ocala, FL; daughter Kimberly (John) Stone of Summerfield, FL; son Dewaine (Pamela) Christmas of Ocala, FL; daughter Lori (Barry) Rosin of Ocala, FL; brother French Hodges of Ocala, FL; sister Justine Bassett of Ocala, FL; sister JoBilly Frick of Ocala, FL; sister Georgia Lee Razzano of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren Danielle, Dex, Aaron, Dylan and Samantha; and his pet dog Gabby. A memorial service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 6pm.
