Obituary of Shirley Edith Berg

THE VILLAGES — Shirley Edith Berg, 84, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011. Mrs. Berg moved to The Villages from Mount Pleasant, S.C., in 2010. She retired as a secretary from Union Mutual Insurance; she was a Protestant; a member of D.A.R.; and enjoyed playing golf, sewing, knitting, crocheting and rug hooking. Survivors include her husband, Walter Berg, The Villages; daughter, Karen Berg, Charleston, S.C.; son, Douglas Alan Berg, Scituate, Mass.; and one granddaughter. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in The Villages. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 988 Woodcock Road, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32803. Arrangements are by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service, The Villages.
