Obituary of Maria Schmidt Roy

Maria Schmidt Roy, age 84, of Ocala, FL passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011. She was born in Poland on January 25, 1927. Maria moved to America from Poland when she was in her early thirties. She attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala and then the University of Florida in Gainesville where she received her Bachelor degree in Special Education. Mrs. Roy retired as a Special Education teacher. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Roy of Ocala, FL; several family members in Poland and Germany and a host of good friends. A memorial service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10am. Her cremains will be placed beside her deceased husband Ashton P. Roy at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 12:30pm.
