Obituary of Elsie Elizabeth Maxey
Elsie Easley Maxey, 89, of Chiefland died December 19, 2011 at North Florida Regional Hospital. She was born in Mississippi on Dec. 14, 1922. She, along with her husband, resided in several states and owned their business for many years. They moved to Lakeland in 1968. After retiring in 1998, she soon settled in Chiefland to be near her family. She was a member of the Manatee Springs Church of Christ and a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her three great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Heather Easley; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Easley; great grandchildren, Makenna, Landon, and Tanner, all of Chiefland.
She is preceded in death by husband, James W. Easley, husband, Hoyt Ulmont Maxey and son Jim Easley.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Chiefland with Pastor Eugene Dumas and Pastor Gordon Keller officiating. Interment will follow at the Chiefland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior the service.
