Obituary of Charles Newton Smith

Smith, Charles N. Charles N. Smith, 91, of Ocala passed away at Sylvia's Hospice House on Friday, December 23, 2011. Mr. Smith was a native of Mineola, NY moving to this area from Long Island, NY in 1969. Mr Smith was of Lutheran faith and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Hawaii during World War II. Mr. Smith was a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed camping with his family in the mountains and for 25 years was instrumental in helping his son Scott, start and support the company, Scott Smith Roofing. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Anna, sons, Rick Smith, Charles "Chicky" Smith, Jeff Smith, John Smith, Wayne Smith and his daughter Alanna Moore, his grandchildren, Paul, Charles III, Alicia, Scott, Jr., Jake, Ashley, Austin, Cory, Lacy, and Tucker, and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Christian, Jacob, Trinity, and Lilly. He is preceded in death by his sons Scott and David and his grandson, Jason. A funeral for Mr. Smith will be held at 7pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Hiers Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, 910 Silver Springs Blvd with Chaplain Bob Miller officiating. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at 10AM on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell for those who wish to attend.
