Obituary of Leo W. Smith

SMITH, Sr., LEO W. Ocala - Leo W. Smith, Sr. passed from this life on January 10, 2012 at The Windsor of Ocala, Florida. He was born in Zolfo Springs, Florida and moved to Ocala in 1964 from Gainesville. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. , was shot down during WW II and was in a POW camp for 11 months. He worked at Dingman Pontiac-Cadillac for many years, and was a local businessman in Ocala and Gainesville, and dealt in real estate investment. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters Terri Warrington of Alachua, Lea (Pat) Duke of Summerfield, Deborah (Greg) Brochetti of Williston; his sons Leo W. (Janice) Smith, Jr., and Lester T. Smith both of Ocala; and his sister Janice Fulford of Daytona. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ara Marie Smith (died June, 15, 2004). A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, with the visitation held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 6pm - 8pm.
