To my sweet husband: Happy 50th Anniversary. We almost made it, Love. And I know you would have smiled all week as all your big event HAD to cover one full week....and you sure loved celebrations, friends and family. We won't be taking all the kids on that big cruise you had planned; but I will sit on your bench, and we will remember our 47 years together. Love FOREVER,

Dear Aunt Janet, John, Michele, Chris, Kristina and grandchildren,
We are so sorry for the pain and sorrow of losing Uncle John. He was larger than life. He always had a big smile, silly joke (that he laughed the loudest at) or a shoulder to cry on. He was the best husband, father, uncle and friend that you could have known. He cherished his family. You are his pride and joy. I know this is a very difficult time, the memories will keep you going. When my mom died (his sister) he helped me cope with the grief by always being there with a memory of my Mom. He said that you can never take away the love, and that although her body was not on earth she would always be with me in my heart. I never got the chance to tell him how much that helped. I know he knows now.
We are sorry that we could not be there at this time but you are all in our thoughts and prayers. You will be able to get through this rough time because you are family. We love you very much.
Love Kathy (Henty) and Tony Yaskulski

Aunt Janet, Christopher and Johnny,
We are so sorry about Uncle John. He was such a WONDERFUL man. I feel so blessed that I got to see him a few times a year as Janet and John would stop through Richmond or my family would head to the Villages. I always loved when Uncle John would say, "admit it, I'm your second favorite uncle", then he'd wink :) He was always the uncle with the dollar bills in his pocket. Charlie and Molly remember that too. I wish we could be there for his services this weekend. We are thinking about you and sending our love and support from Virginia.

I only visit the Villages for a week each winter, but John always went out of his way to make me feel welcome and part of his golf group. He used to ask me every time we played. "Ed tell me what you dont like about The Villages". I never had an answer, but now I would say. "John Maloney isn't there". My wife Kathy. and I are deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Janet and family,
I was so deeply saddened by John's passing. One of our "Bristol family of friends" has left us much too soon. I'll always remember John 'strolling' down the hallways of Bldg 22, stopping of course, to say Hi to everyone. So many good memories of you both at the BEA functions. John certainly loved life. I remember being at a memorial for another Bristol member who had passed away, sitting next to John, and he had tears flowing. He wore his heart on his sleeve. Now my tears flow for him. My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Jo Ann Riker

CANDY APPLES!" We would just laugh. Then when I was lucky enough to live with you both before we moved and Uncle John would let me sit in his chair. That was a big deal. Janet, John, and Christopher,
Cousin Jim Burns here. News of John's passing reached us via DonE and Barb Burns from Dean and Gretchen Burns. We didn't know John had been been sick. Isn't that the way with big families; the word never gets out, usually only because everyone assumes you already know about it so they don't bother to mention the news to you. Mary and I extend our deep condolences to all of you and know how sad you all must feel. Janet: its no consolation, I know, but I remember when John had his first heart attack in Syracuse about twenty years ago; I visited with you and him at St Joseph's. He did good to stay with you all this time. We wish we could be with you. Love Jim and Mary

We are so sorry for your loss. Your husband and father will be missed by the Toole family. John was one of those rare individuals that you meet in life that impacts you in only positive ways. He was a guy that was so fun to be around that you couldn't wait until you saw him again. We feel lucky to have known John and consider ourselves fortunate and blessed that we had him in our lives. We always walked away with a smile after being around John. If you were a kid, you walked away with a dollar too! I'll always remember how John would shake a kids hand with a HUGE grin on his face, you know, the kind of smile that goes from ear to ear, and folded within the palm of his hand was a dollar bill! He spread joy wherever he went! John was an inspiration to us all. We will miss him.

Dear Janet, John, Chris & family, John & you were such a part of our lives for so long. Our Children graduated from high school together, went to college together, married, had babies around the same time, & we watched our grandchildren grow up together. All those years You guys were a big part of our life & we are flooded with so many memories. The ice cream shop in the Thousand islands can never be called anything other than "Dance of the Fannies" Jocko watching a SU game & twisting his hands when the score got close: Jocko walking down the hall at camp after one of his many naps ready to organize some kind of social get togetbher: thetime he paid Janet & I $20.00 to stop talking for a half hour; all the times he tried to help us put things together that we brought (only to discover Janet was the real mechanic; the time he locked the car keys in the trunk during a storm coming from a Buffalo Bills game. whenever he told a joke and laughed the loudest while telling it: He was Janet's biggest fan always be the first to stand and applaud and she was always his caregiver right to the end.,I could go on & on but we will keep these memories to ourselve. Oh, how about the 5 minute rule which saved many a fight. But of all the memories the quality that stands out the most was his kindness. It didn't matter who you were John was kind to all....Pam & Jack Dooling

Oh, here's to other meetings,
And merry greetings then;
And here's to those we've golfed with,
But never can again.

I used to joke with him that I never knew what exactly he did for us at Bristol, but he was like the oil that made our machines run well. He could smooth over issues and problems and was a real go to guy. We could always depend on John. He left us all with his legacy of being a people person, caring about others and always willing to give of himself. We are all blessed to have known him.
Janet, at this time of grief please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Janet and family,
Chuck & I were so sorry to hear of John's passing. Memories of John will be held in the hearts of all that knew him. One such memory that Chuck would like to share is the time that he was in the Wa-Noa clubhouse when there was an emergency phone call from Janet. The hot water tank had exploded and the cellar was flooding. Chuck grabbed a golf cart and found John on the 17th green. He told him about the emergency, and in John's typical slow way, he told Chuck to tell the folks in the clubhouse to let Janet know that they couldn't find him. He explained that he was having one of his best rounds ever! He finished his round, and called Janet.
With sympathy,
Kay & Chuck Palmer

Dear Janet, Christopher and family...
I heard of John's passing through Kathy Waite Casey and would like to extend my deepest sympathy to all of you. John's photograph truly captured his kind face and all of your kind sentiments. It is most fortunate that you had such a wonderful father, husband and human being in your lives, and most unfortunate that John was taken at such a young age.
I remember John well from our high school days at Rosary. He was a great guy with a terrific sense of humor and carried this to all of you through his life - a legacy you have forever.
With deepest sympathy and thoughts your way,
Janice Hoffmann

John and Janet brought joy and caring to my life and wraped their love around me during Ron's illness and death. I know John and Ron are having a beer and sharing a joke. John's smile always lit up the room. Janet please know that my arms and ears will be available to you and are a call away. Carole Ricciuti

John was a great Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He was forever proud of Janets accomplishments, his sons and his grandchildren. He was the common thread with so many of us "Villagers" uniting his golf groups. He always had that friendly smile and zest for life. We will miss seeing him rain or shine and the end of the dock at the beautiful river, every day enjoying his second love of life - Fishing. Thank you for your smile and good times. We will miss you John.

John....I'm certain that among Heaven's wonderful benefits must be "unlimited crab legs evenings....like the one Nancy and I shared with you and Janet a few short weeks ago at Paradise Rec Center. God willing we'll all get together again "up there" and "refresh" the wonderful memories we have of that evening. Until then, we send Love and many happy reminiscences of your life among us here. , Stu & Nancy Reynolds.

We are deeply saddened to know of your great loss- a loss so many feel. John was a very special man. His love of family and friends and good times was worn on his sleeve for all to see. He had a way of making everyone he met feel welcomed into his world. We will never forget the kindness he and Janet showed us when we first moved to The Villages nor the memory of the last time we saw him. He went out of his way greeting us with that wonderful smile and kind Irish eyes to ask about our new grand-daughters. That was the kind of guy he was.
