Obituary of Earl Windell Lanier

Earl Windell Lanier, 81, of Wildwood, Florida, passed away on July 9, 2023, in Ocala, FL. Born on December 16, 1941, Earl was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Earl proudly served in the Army for four years during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.

Following his military service, Earl embarked on a successful career as a produce and seafood salesman. Known for his dedication and hard work, he traveled throughout the state of Florida, selling his goods and establishing numerous Fruit Stands in the area.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Earl had a passion for fishing and gardening. He delighted in tending to his own vegetable garden and took great pleasure in observing hummingbirds. Additionally, Earl was an avid sports enthusiast, finding joy in watching various sporting events, especially his granddaughters volleyball tournaments. He always enjoyed listening to good music and always loved to hear his granddaughters play piano for him. 

Earl Lanier is survived by his daughter Margaret Anne Killinger and Son in-law Brad Killinger as well as his 3 granddaughters Jayda Marie Killinger, Anna Laci Killinger and Cara Christina Killinger as well as his siblings: O.W. Lanier, Betty Gale Storman, and Randall Steve Lanier. He was preceded in death by his mother Verona Ida Lanier and father Ernest Lanier and his siblings Ida Verona Bailey, L.M. Linson, John L. Linson, Audory Lanier, Maple Hinkle, Marvin Lanier, and Richard Eary.

Earl will be dearly missed by all his loved ones. His dedication to his country, hard work, and love for God and family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
