Obituary of Raymond Lynn Hale

Raymond Lynn “Jack” Hale, 77, of Silver Springs, Florida passed away after a battle with cancer on June 18th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on September 25, 1945 in Dayton, OH to the late Mary (Morrow) Hale and Roland Hale.  Jack was the second of three siblings.  He and his surviving wife, Janie, called New Smyrna Beach, FL their home for nearly 40 years, and were pillars of the community there as resident managers of Holiday Cove North.  Jack was a self-sacrificing father to his only son and his wife.  Their 53 year marriage was a testimony of sacrifice for each other and a model of success for other couples.  A gentle man with great patience and wisdom, he could endure much with calmness and maintain his great sense of humor.

 

Jack is survived by his wife Janie (Maupin) Hale, 74; his only son Jeff Hale, 52; his brother-in-law, Kirk Maupin and sister-in-law, Donna (Griesinger) Maupin; his niece Heather (Hale) Steckel and her husband, Erik, and great niece, Samantha; his niece Malia (Maupin) Pryor and her husband, Bill, along with their three children; his sister Linda (Lowrey) Moneypenny and her husband Randal and their children and grandchildren; as well as countless other loving family members and friends, too numerous to list.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Roland Hale; his older brother Ronnie Hale; his loving stepfather Eugene Lowrey; his brother-in-law, John Phillip Maupin; and his daughter-in-law, Christina (Bondi) Hale.

 

A celebration of life service will be held in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in September, specifics to be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County, FL.  Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
