Obituary of Terence Edwin Kirchman

Terence Edwin Kirchman, Terry, 81, of Belle Glade and Ocala, passed away on May 28, 2023 at his ranchette home in Anthony, FL.  He was born May 31, 1941 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL to Arnold Kirchman and Oretha Thompson Kirchman. He is survived by his sister Bobbie Kirchman Mathis, and brother Pete Kirchman; three sons Danny and his spouse Sofia; Terry and his spouse Kathy; and Joshua and his spouse Shawna; 8 Grandchildren- Stephanie, Dane, Mia, Brandon, Chloe, Blake, Victoria, and Brody; 5 Great Grandchildren- Mila, Oliver, Sonny, Cruz, and Louis. 

Terry Kirchman was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Donna Jean Vivian Kirchman, on August 23, 2019.  They grew up together in Belle Glade, FL and met riding horses at 8 years old.  Terry graduated with a business degree from the Jones Business College.  He was part owner of Kirchman Oil in Belle Glade until 2000.  Terry was a Past President and long time member of the Belle Glade Rotary Club.  Terry and Donna continued to share a passion for horses and animals.  They owned a small ranch on Tabit Road in Belle Glade and bought their first Paso Fino in 1970.  From 1970 onward, Donna and Terry bred, trained, showed and sold some of the top Paso Fino horses in the U.S. under the farm and business name Black Gold Acres.  They moved to Ocala in 2000, purchasing their dream farm in the Horse Capital of the World.  In Ocala, Terry was a realtor and broker until 2010.  Then he worked for Clardy Oil until 2022.  Recently he passed his insurance license examination and started a new job at Bankers Life.  Terry enjoyed learning and working, he felt it kept him young in the mind.  Terry spoke often of his love of living in Ocala and spending time with the many friends Donna and him had met in their time living here.  Even after the loss of Donna, Terry still wanted to live on a small farm where he could have his few horses and dog, Lucky, to come home to everyday.  He felt living in the country kept him close to Donna whom he loved and missed tremendously.  Terry will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and animals.  They have consolation knowing he is with his love Donna Jean again.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at 11:00AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services located at 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala, FL  34470 (352)-629-7171 with a reception to follow.
