He was pre-deceased by brothers, Donald Eugene (Gene) Stanaland, Charles Joseph (Joby) Stanaland, and wives, Barbara Daniel Stanaland, and Vivian (Dolly) O'steen Stanaland.
He is survived by children Russell D. Stanaland, of San Francisco, California and Karen L. Stan was a private man with an engaging smile and personality who succeeded in every business he pursued from working for the State of Florida to owning a horse farm, pawn shops in Gainesville, Florida and Palatka, Florida, and various real estate holdings. His love of water led him to purchase several homes around Florida on a variety of lakes, rivers and coasts of Florida. He loved the University of Florida Gators athletic teams and hosted many football-watching "tail gates" at his home. His love of animals knew no bounds and they always brought comfort and companionship to him throughout his life.
He never lived his age and enjoyed life to the fullest. A private family interment will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
