Obituary of Emogene Hussey

Emogene Hussey, 86, of Franklin, North Carolina passed away June 18, 2023. She was the wife of the late Theodore Hussey. They were married for 63 years. She was born on April 30, 1937, in Tyronza, Arkansas. Her parents Selma and Lillian Allred, raised Emma in Miami, Florida. Emma enjoyed spending time with family, whom she loved so much. She often bragged on her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even her great-great grandchildren. When she wasn’t with family, she and her dear friends would play cards and have meals together. Emma could often be found with a book, soduko, or a puzzle not too far away. She had a passion for crocheting and supplied our family with slippers for over 50 years. A smile was always on Emma’s face and her laugh came so easily. Her sunny personality rubbed off on everyone she came in contact with, and she never met a stranger. Emogene is survived by her son, James Tilton Hussey (Anita) of Houston, TX, along with a daughter, Debbie Shannon (Duane) of Franklin, NC. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren. Emma is proceeded in death by: sons, Alan Hussey and Timothy Hussey along with grandson, Cody Hussey.
