Obituary of Derek Norton
Derek Richard Norton, 51, Passed away on 5/28/23 at his home in Summerfield, FL. He grew up in Fitchburg, and Framingham, MA and moved to Florida in 2008. He attended St. Joseph school in Fitchburg, and St. Tarcissius and Walsh middle school in Framingham. Was a graduate of Marian High School in Framingham, and Bridgton Academy in Maine. Mr. Norton worked as a Landscaper all his life, owned his own business, Traditional Landscape in Massachusetts, and worked for several companies in Florida.
He leaves his twin children, Tyler and Cameron Norton of Summerfield, FL, his parents, Stephen and Dorene of Summerfield, FL. Derek is predeceased by his older brother, David, and leaves his brother, John (Amy) of Morristown, NJ. He also leaves his stepbrother and sister, Nicholas, and Lindsey. He leaves 4 nephews and nieces, Jake, Casey, Samantha, and George, and leaves several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Derek was an avid athlete and played Little League and Marian High school baseball as well as Youth Hockey and Marian High School hockey. He then coached the Marian High School Hockey team as well as several youth baseball and softball teams in FL. He was also a big golfer, taking part in the Annual Jaworek Polska Open in MA.
The celebration of Life will be at July 1st at 2:00pm, 8639 CR 469, Center Hill, FL 33514 at The Barn. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Bridget’s Church on RT. 9 in Framingham, MA on July 15th at 10:00am, 830 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA 01702, with a reception to follow at Ashland Fish and Game Club.
