Obituary of Richard E. Belcher

Richard E. Belcher, 77, of Ocala, Florida passed away after a short but hard battle with Lung Cancer, surrounded by his loved ones on June 2, 2023.

He was born in Amherstdale, West Virginia on September 12, 1945 to Raymond and Lila Belcher.

Richard graduated from Man High School in Man, West Virginia in 1963 and moved to Illinois to start a career in the steel industry. Richard was a Master Mason and the Past Master of Harbor Lodge No. 731.

Richard met Sue, the love of his life in 1976 and got married in 1977. Richard had a deep passion for playing golf with some of his proudest moments being able to make 3 holes in one in 3 different states. Richard had one of the most outgoing personalities and he never met a stranger. 

Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen Sue Belcher of Ocala, Florida, his siblings; Leslie (Toni) Belcher, Judy (Jack) Morgan, Joe (Teresa) Belcher, and Raymond (Cece) Belcher; two daughters; Bettina (Rob) Collins, Debbie (Tim) Weinand, three sons; Kevin (Lisa) Triezenberg, Devin (Mary) Belcher and Don (Debbie) Sowder Jr.; seventeen grandchildren; Christopher (Joey) Triezenberg, Victoria (Mike) Grivetti, Corey (Courtney) Grivetti, Robert (Latunisha) Collins III, Chandler Grivetti, Codey Grivetti, Nathan Grivetti, Nickolaus Grivetti, Noah Collins, Kendra (Travis) Wenz, Ashley (Shane) Douglas, Devin (Liz) Belcher Jr., Jeremy (Nariah) Belcher, Brittany (Chris) Belcher, Kiara Belcher, Donald (Nicole) Sowder III, Dylan Sowder; twenty-six great-grandchildren; Braylon, Parker, Leland, Chandler, Isiah, Ameer, Londynne, Peyton, Vincent, Lennon, Lily, Nevaeh, La’EL, Savannah, Alaina, Aubree, Audrina, Livia, Talon, McKenzzie, Virgil, Gino, Lliam, Amelia, Zamario, Donald IV and several nieces and nephews. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lila Belcher, in-laws Floyd and Delora Brown, sister Betty Burnett, brother William Belcher and grandson Austin Crnogorac. Richard will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Monday June 5, 2023 from 4:00pm-6:00pm and Tuesday June 6, 2023 at 2:00pm followed by a service at 3:00pm.
