Obituary of Larry Allen Cox

Larry Allen Cox, 76, of Ocala, Florida passed away, surrounded by his loved ones on May 31st, 2023. He was born in Covington, Virginia on March 13th, 1947, the son of the late Eugene Cox and Mary Spicer. He will forever be remembered and profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Larry possessed a deep love for his country and a strong desire to serve. Answering the call of duty, Larry enlisted with the United States Army and embarked on a remarkable military career that spanned several states and countries. After years of selfless service, Larry retired from the military with the rank of Sergeant Major. Throughout his service, he displayed unwavering dedication, exceptional courage, and outstanding leadership, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers. 

Larry’s service in the Army was just one aspect of his life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished uncle. His family meant the world to him, and he always made time to be there for them, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. Larry’s warm smile, joyful greetings, kind heart, and gentle nature endeared him to everyone he met. 

Larry leaves behind a legacy of honor, integrity, humbleness, compassion, and love for his country. He is survived by his loving wife, Young Cox, his son, Larry Cox Jr, and his brothers, Wayne Cox and Darol Cox.

Larry Cox’s memory will forever be cherished and his contributions to his country and family will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
