Obituary of Daniel John Drake

Daniel J Drake, 90, passed away April 17, 2023, at his home with his wife, Simone by his side. He was born December 20, 1932. Dan was a financial executive, he moved to the area in 1982 from New Jersey. Dan was an active member of Queen of Peace Church in Ocala. Dan was a loving husband and father. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a helping hand. He was proud of his position at Church as a lecturer. He had a dream of seeing a baseball game in every stadium in the US. Dan enjoyed water volleyball, music, dancing, and cooking way too much food for every occasion. Go Gators. He left a loving wife Simone and was preceded in death by his first wife Claire, with whom he had three children. One son, Steven Drake, and wife Elaine of New Jersey; two daughters Jeanne Drake of Pennsylvania and Judith Luff and her partner Bartholomew of Florida; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman of Maryland. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Jeanette Koczorowski. He will have a visitation 4PM - 7PM on Wednesday, April 26th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481, 352-873-4114. A funeral mass will take place at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala at 8:30AM Thursday, April 27th.
