Obituary of Roland Hambleton Wright

Roland Hambleton Wright, 80, of Ft McCoy passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Ocala Regional. He was born May 15, 1940 the son of Roland and Mildred Wright. Roland was a native of Chester, Pennsylvania before moving to the Ocala area. He worked at Hewlett-Packard where he was the sales leader many times and retired after 43 very productive and dedicated years. In Roland’s free time he loved fishing and going to different shows including Broadway and musicals. He loved Briard dogs and enjoyed showing them at many different dog shows where he competed and won many titles. Roland was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after four years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Strong Wright; children, Robert Wright, Sr., Kari (Jeff) Massey, and Roger Anderson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held for Roland at Bosque Vello Cemetery in Fernadina Beach, Florida on Wednesday, August 19 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or Hospice facility of your choice. Online condolences may be sent at www.hiers-baxley.com.
