Obituary of Iris G. Sabo

Iris G. Sabo, 95, of Ocala passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Iris was born in Belfast, Ireland to James and Margaret Gibson. She was a homemaker, wife of 68 years to the late William Sabo, and mother of 2 daughters; Margaret Canganelli and Kathleen Schildknecht. She was predeceased by her brother James Gibson, sister Kathleen Mitchell, and sons in law Emilio Canganelli and James Schildknecht. Other survivors include her grandchildren; Jodi (Wesley) Reid, William (Amy) Canganelli, Cathy (Andy) Blake, and James (Tara) Schildknecht, great grandchildren; Graham, Justin, Blake, Caitlin, Alexander, Ashlynn, and Vance, her sister Phenny Taylor, and last but not least her furry friend “Tommy”.

Iris cherished her family. She was the best cook – Apple pie pancakes and Dumplings were the proof. She met her husband while he was serving in the US Army in Ireland during WWII. They met at a dance, fell in love, got married in England, then came to the United States after the war. She had the ability to listen with love and understanding.
