Obituary of Joseph W. Wagner
Joseph W. Wagner was born July 28, 1931 in Wyatt, IN and died April 13, 2019 at The Villages Cornerstone Hospice House. He is predeceased by his parents Martin and Mabel Wagner and brother, Calvin Wagner.
Survivors are his wife Jean and four children, Cathy (Jeff) Bayer, Hilton Head, SC; Carrie Holland, Naples, FL; Cynthia Lemcke and Mark (Michelle) Wagner, Mishawaka, IN.
Six grandchildren, Adam Hack, Orange Park, FL; Sara (Lee) Stanton, and Patrick Wagner, Mishawaka, IN; Leya (Joe) Gardner, South Bend, IN; Emilee (Brad) Crohn, Middleton, ID; and Erica (Jamie) Davis, Adamsville, TN.
Five great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Jacob Stanton; Coleton Hack and Ashton Davis.
After graduating from Madison Twp. High School in 1950 Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a Korean War Veteran. While employed at South Bend Lathe for many years, his greatest satisfaction was renovating old houses. He enjoyed camping with his family, hunting mushrooms in Michigan, and many woodworking projects. After retiring, he and Jean moved to Florida where he enjoyed tennis, golf, and an active lifestyle for almost 30 years.
He was a gentle, kind and loving husband and father and will be missed by his family and friends.
