I was so sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. As cousins, we didn’t have much in common, but I always enjoyed his zest for life and his sense of humor. Our 4th of July family gatherings were legendary, and the boys would usually play softball and everyone enjoyed the fresh Long Island clams. It looks like he had a wonderful, full life with loving friends and family.

Dear Magenheimer family,
I am very sorry for your loss. A scripture that encouraged me very much when I have lost loved ones in death is John 5:28,29. It says “Do not be amazed at this for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”

I never met Mr. Magenheimer, but I wish that I had. I write a weekly column that goes to friends and appears in the villages-news.com. He read my articles in the latter. He was positive and even defended me against a couple of individuals who were negative. He also expressed interest in seeing a photo of my wife who I refer to as “The Blonde in the house”. I did and he commented favorably. We are pleased that he saw it. Our condolences to the family.

I was absolutely shocked to hear of Eddie Mag's passing. I was so looking forward to seeing him at our upcoming reunion. I had no idea that he would be there only in spirit. It was just a few short years ago that he and I discussed the Chapter Celestial that we were to conduct and wondered who would be added to the list the next time around. We agreed that Brother Elias would probably be there, but neither of us volunteered our names. I was lucky enough to be right, Mag was not so lucky. I know we are all in the fourth quarter of our lives, and my hope to all is that we can make it to "over-time". I offer heart felt condolences to Eddie's family.

A gentleman, a man of honor and courage, a man of zeal, yet humble, an intelligent man, a man of truth, one who tempers action with wisdom and above all else, one who walks in the light of God. Not for a day, or an hour or a college term only, but for life. Fairwell my brother, we will cherish your memory here until we meet again.

So many memories it’s hard to pick one or two. Mag was a great brother who loved Kappa Sigma and his brothers, as we loved him. He will be greatly missed at our reunion.

Mag was always so special the way he could keep people laughing. We don't laugh
enough in this life but, Mag was a master at entertaining. He had a special talent.
Always one of my very favorite brothers and I will really miss him at this years
reunion. I know he was such a proud father to Eddie and loved his family. May God Bless his soul. He'll always be my Brother!

Time will never erase the memories that our Kappa Sigma Brother leaves us. Mag was an inspiration to our Brothers, both in college and in our recent years. We are saddened to learn of his passing, but cherish his memory and pray for the family in these days ahead.

Soon after pleading Kappa Sigma I wandered into one of the back corner fraternity house rooms guided by the sound of loud laughter. As I peeked in the door way there was “Mag” telling Caesar Lamonaca and Bobby Dues about the perils of being “Little Eddie Magenheimer”. As I stood there listening I knew that this guy had a First Class Temperament.

Mag was my “Yankee” connection to brotherhood beyond regional preconceptions in the ‘60’s . Kind, funny, generous and trustworthy, for me, he was an ambassador to the South. AEKDB

They broke the mold when God made this one. However, I’ve never met his Son.
I remember someone referring to Mr. Magenheimer as Ed. His reply? “It’s Mag, you don’t know me well enough to call me Ed.”
I knew Mag well enough to call him Ed. I take some comfort in that.
AEKDB Brother.
